Sacred Spaces

We’re in the middle of our Sacred Spaces offering this year and the team has outdone itself again. In chasing down a hard to define, and even harder to manufacture experience of love they have done a phenomenal job. I keep hearing stories of people who are being moved in a space, encountering God in new or renewed ways, feeling refreshed in their spirits and more. That is what Sacred Spaces is about…bringing refreshment and renewal to your spirit.

But it’s also about more than that. It’s a teaching exercise, designed to show every participant that the ability to encounter God can happen with any amount of creativity, or none at all. You see, anyone can take a Scripture passage and read it slowly and quietly and encounter God in that reading. The team simply (well, maybe not that simply!) makes the passages come alive with creative ideas, color, texture and concept.

You can do this too. You can take those readings, or any passages from the Bible, find a quiet place to sit and spend time thinking on the verses you read. That is our greatest win out of Sacred Spaces. Not only that you would encounter God in the spaces we create, but also that you would be inspired to create a regular Sacred Space in your life. And you can!

The team that designed these spaces aren’t gracing the hit shows of HGTV, or running stupendous art shows in Boston. They’re people like you and me using their gifts as best they can. So, use your gifts and make your Bible reading come alive!

And Faith Group leaders, your group is a Sacred Space every time it meets. Jesus said so…”For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.” (Matthew 18:20 NIV). And where ever Jesus is, that’s a Sacred Space.
